The Story of Eastern Horizons
From ancient times the Far East has conjured up images of adventure and
mystery. Fine silks, spices, unique architecture, snake charmers and
spiritual guru’s have all been part of the mysterious attraction that
has enthralled adventurers who journeyed to the east. There is a small,
still voice whispering, chanting in the wind, "discover the hidden
mysteries of the East." Eastern Horizons Adventure Travel has arisen
out of that mysterious longing to discover what lies beyond the
horizon, and to bring east and west closer together.
The idea and the
name for the company originated while traveling in Bhutan, perhaps the
most preserved eastern culture still existing in the world today.
Actually, only the name Eastern Horizons is new. Ram Kumar Pradhan,
better known as Oser, a well seasoned, top of the line Bhutanese guide,
was looking for the proper avenue for his business expertise and his
artistic talent. He happened to meet a well traveled traveler named
Timothy (it was ‘karmic’ we would say in the east) whose life situation
was serendipitously suited to the avenue that Oser was pursuing. It
was as if the sun began to rise and we were both looking out over
Eastern Horizons. We hope to share the sunrise with you as you
adventure with us to “discover the hidden mysteries of the East."
