If you want to sink right into the heart and soul of Bhutan, take a 14 day journey with us through the religious heritage of the only country that still maintains Mahayana Buddhism in its Tantric Vajrayana form as the official religion. On this monastery pilgrimage you will experience the spiritual underpinnings of Bhutan’s distinct style of government, it’s art, architecture and culture. Visit monasteries perched imposingly on the sheer cliffs of the Himalayan mountain sides. You will visit Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, and Bumtang, where vitally important monasteries and temples of the Tibetan Buddhist world have maintained their living traditions untainted by the devastation of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Experience for yourself the intricate architecture and mysterious religious paintings that are indicative of the overreaching role religion plays throughout the country.
